We've had a big mention in the latest issue (March) of Country Living magazine. A top publication and it's great to be included in those hallowed pages. Our 'Stalks & Leaves' design cushion has a whole page to itself, sitting up nicely and looking ready for Spring. You can also spot a French Sac bag hanging in the bathroom and in the dressing room there's a glimpse of two designs from the 'Home Works' range. Utility and Laundry, designs that reference vintage french roller towels, our own traditional tea towels plus a touch of vintage text too.
That's enough excitement for one day so let's take a quiet look back into the design archive. How could I resist mentioning our Modern Heart cushion in February? A design that mixes typography, word play and a comic book style image. Art with Heart. Every so often I cull designs so as to make room for new ones. Modern Heart isn't included in the collection at the moment but there are two available in the SAMPLE SALE. These are pieces that were printed for our own samples or for magazine shoots. They're not seconds. Take a look on the Products page, there's still a small selection left with nearly 50% off the regular retail price!
My work in the studio continues through all of these distractions. I'm thinking about colour. I've dyed a batch of calico pieces and I'm printing some trials to see what works. The Big Paisley design lends itself well to this idea and looks good in bold colours. It's a design that can take extra enrichment too so I'm trialling some top-stitching, working out scale and colour... I'll let you know how it goes.
When you're next in Bembridge on the Isle of Wight please visit Pomegranate. It's a lovely independent interiors store, it stands on a sunny corner and is full of delightful things. Chris and Sharon have just taken delivery of a big pile of Random Retail cushions and bags. With colours printed specially to work with their palette, I'm very happy to be part of the mix there.
