We're having another Sample Sale!

Sometimes I trial pieces in the studio and I also play around with the designs just because I enjoy it.

The offset french sac design works really well and is an interesting rethink on an old favourite. We have two of these in the sale. One in slate and the other in mustard.

I really like the 'distressed' image that you can achieve with screenprinting too. The bluebird and the french navy french sac bag both show this effect.

By allowing less ink to reach the fabric the image becomes textured and looks pleasingly washed out. This works particularly well on 'vintage' style designs, making them look convincingly old.

This technique also ensures each item is a one-off.

Take a look!

We've had another magazine mention too, this time in May's Country Homes and Interiors @countryhomesmag.

In January's blog, I mentioned that we'd sent a big box of Random Retail and OK Corral items for the magazine photoshoot.

All the pieces were included in a lovely feature, The Mindful Home.

Country Homes and Interiors liked the way I'd 'repurposed' an old sales catalogue. I loved the language and typefaces that were used and adapted it for screenprinting.

This is my Gardener cushion, perfect for conservatories and garden rooms or as a gift for a keen gardener.

Country Homes and Interiors wanted a cherry red print for their feature and I made this one specially for them.

You can see the full range of colours available on my website.

A new venture has started on the Island and we're happy to be included.

Our friend Fabiola has created a fresh sales outlet for locally made products.

It's at Holliers Farm and is called Island Artisan.

There's lots to see from Isle of Wight makers plus there are some studio spaces with artists in residence.

Very much worth a visit and you'll find a small selection of Random Retail products there too.

Summer must be on the way as our visitor numbers are already on the up, here on the Isle of Wight.

Pomegranate, the lovely interiors shop in Bembridge, has just re-ordered from us as sales are brisk - excellent news!

Bluebird bags, gardener's cushions, I think there's a bit of a theme going on here.
